The goal of the project is to improve health, quality of life & livelihoods as well as the overall WatSan situation of poor and disadvantaged urban communities.
Objectives
Considering the sufferings of the poor and disadvantage community due to lack of safe drinking water, environmental sanitation, basic hygiene situation in the selected urban slum of Chittagong City Corporation, NGO Forum for Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation in association with it’s Partner Organizations initiate a joint action to execute Advancing Sustainable Environmental Health (ASEH) project. In the selected areas of Chittagong City with a view to improve health, quality of life & livelihoods as well as the overall WatSan situation of poor and disadvantaged urban communities by the support of WaterAid Bangladesh and has successfully completed the project. Processes of income generation for mechanics were introduced by handing over them a complete set of tool box with certificates and providing their address and mobile no in CBO level, commissioners office and others public places so that they can introduce them as mechanic to the community and earn. NGOF Forum developed a group of mechanics (20 nos.) and made a formal linkage with CBO & LGI among the working area and ensures a process of income for mechanics. ASEH which has been undertaken to improve the health, quality of life & livelihood as well as the overall WatSan situation of poor and disadvantage communities.
